From Your Board of Directors...
Dear Members & Friends of CCMCC,

Our Fall Congregational Meeting has been moved to Sunday, November 15th following our worship service.  Our agenda includes approval of the 2010 Budget and election of Board of Director members.  Packets will be sent out to members on October 29th.

On October 26th at 7pm, we will hold a Financial Forum to discuss the amended 2009 budget and the proposed 2010 budget.  This will be your opportunity to ask questions related to the these budgets prior to the Congregational Meeting.  We want everyone to have a better understanding of church finances and our operating expenses for the next year.  Please plan to attend if you are available.

At the time of the Congregational Meeting, we will have five vacant Board positions.  Anyone who is interested in running for one of these openings should submit a letter of intent to bod@christcovenantmcc.org no later than October 28th.  This information will be included in the packets that are sent to the membership.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

We have a very busy fall planned and soon-to-be holiday season here at Christ Covenant.  We realize that the past few months have been hard on many in our congregation, and we are all ready for a new pastor.  The Pastoral Search Team is dedicated to finding the person who is the right fit for our community of faith.  It is a difficult process that should not be hurried.  In the meantime, we all have to continue to move forward together.  It is not the time to step back, but a time to step up.  We are all here for a reason, and when we feel discouraged, we must all remember why we are here and keep doing everything we can to support our church.

Peace and love,
Your Board of Directors
Atlanta Pride
Atlanta Pride is only a few weeks away, and CCMCC, as always, will be represented!

CCMCC Pride Booth
Helen Malone and Jenny Webb are coordinating our Booth this year.  This is a great opportunity for us to reach out to the community!  Many people have found their way to Christ Covenant due to the information they found at our Pride Booth.

We need volunteers for a variety of shifts throughout the weekend.  Please see Helen or Jenny to sign up for a shift and ask your friends to work a shift with you and make it fun!

CCMCC in the Pride Parade
For the Pride Parade, we are doing things a little differently this year.  We will be walking in the parade and throwing out "goodies" to the crowd.

Sheri Smith will be driving along beside the walkers in her convertible displaying CCMCC signage.  If you are interested in walking with us, please see Sheri!
Candle hands This Sunday at Christ Covenant!
October 18 - Rev. Jane Acuff - Reverend Jane Acuff is a member of CCMCC and was ordained to the UFMCC in June 2007. She is currently our interim worship director.  Jane is partner to Linda and mom to Emily.
The CCMCC Choir is back!
The choir at CCMCC is back!  If you are interested in joining the choir or just coming to a practice to check it out then please feel free to come to the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and join us as we make a joyful noise!

The choir will also have Sunday morning practice, so if your schedule doesn't allow for Wednesday evening practice, then please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00am in the sanctuary!  Hope to see you there!
Sunday School
This Sunday, October 18th, Rev. Kathy Burton will be starting a new series, Sheroes and Heroes of the Old Testament.  Please join us at 9:30 and bring your Bibles!
Pride in Your Church Day!
This Sunday, October 18
(directly following worship)
Members & Friends,

You will be hearing a lot about Stewardship this month.  When we talk about stewardship most often we think of money and how we can support our church with our monetary commitments.  While that is essential, the very core of our "pledges" is a willingness to share our resources.  A willingness to recognize if we each give what we are able there will be plenty for all.

This Sunday, Sunday October 18, immediately following the worship service, your Board of Directors would like to invite you to help us in practicing good stewardship through the "de-cluttering" of our wonderful resource...our building

We would like to go through each room and closet and eliminate what is being stored and not used.  If there are items we have that we can offer to others who could use them, we want to do so with open hands.  Please come and help us be good stewards of so much that we have stored.

Please bring a sack lunch.  Our goal is a 2 hour commitment from each friend/member of CCMCC.

Peace and love,
Your Board of Directors

One Spirit, One Body
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body- Jews or Greeks, slaves or free- and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
-1 Corinthians 12:12-13

We will not have open registration the day of the retreat at Camp Mikell as we have in previous years. No fees or registration for the retreat will be accepted after November 10, 2009.
