Pastoral Search Team UPDATE!
The Pastoral Search Team met Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

Major decisions were made.

Stand by for announcements.

-CCMCC Pastoral Search Team
From Your Board of Directors...
Dear Members & Friends of CCMCC,

Thanks to everyone who attended the Financial Forum on Monday night.  We had discussion about the 2009 and 2010 budgets and addressed questions and concerns of our congregants.  We are in a much better financial position than we were six months ago, but there is still a lot of work to do.  We appreciate all of Carolyn Marshall's hard work on church finances!

Pride is finally here!  CCMCC has a booth at Pride and will have a presence in the parade on Sunday.  While many of you will be working or just attending Pride this weekend, we ask that you remember that the work of the church continues even when we're not there.  We have weekly expenses that must be paid and are dependent on our tithes and offerings.  If you have not set up your tithes on a direct debit with your bank or the church office, please make your offering this week so that it will be available for next week's expenses.  You can mail in a check, call the office to provide a credit card donation, or donate online through the website www.christcovenantmcc.org under the giving tab.  Thank you all for your continued support of CCMCC and its ministries.

Blessings and peace for your week.

Atlanta Pride
Atlanta Pride is only a few days away, and CCMCC, as always, will be represented!

CCMCC Pride Booth

Helen Malone and Jenny Webb are coordinating our Booth this year.  This is a great opportunity for us to reach out to the community!  Many people have found their way to Christ Covenant due to the information they found at our Pride Booth.

We need volunteers for a few two-hour shifts throughout the weekend.  Please send an email (by Friday at noon) to christcovenant@christcovenantmcc.org if you are available to work one of these short shifts!  Ask your friends to work a shift with you and make it fun!

CCMCC in the Pride Parade

For the Pride Parade, we are doing things a little differently this year.  We will be walking in the parade and throwing out "goodies" to the crowd.

Sheri Smith will be driving along beside the walkers in her convertible displaying CCMCC signage.

**This Sunday, November 1, the parade participants must be at the park early to get in place.  CCMCC will have a communion service at 9am.  Rev. Jane Acuff will lead us, and then we will head to Piedmont Park.  Normal services will resume the following Sunday, November 8, as we worship with Rev. Jackie Jenkins.
CCMCC Fall Congregational Meeting
Sunday, November 15
(immediately following worship)
Our Fall Congregational Meeting will be Sunday, November 15th following our worship service.  Our agenda includes approval of the 2010 budget and election of Board of Director members.  Packets will be sent out to members on October 29th.

You are asked to print out your packet information and bring it with you to the meeting.
Worship Schedule
November 8 - Rev. Jackie Jenkins - Rev. Jenkins is the former executive director of both the Decatur Cooperative Ministries and Buckhead Community Ministries, former staff member at Central Presbyterian Church, and current Children's Minister at Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

November 15 - Maggie Kulyk, MDiv. - Maggie holds a Masters in Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and is a Financial Planner. She is the founder of Maggie's Giving Group. Maggie works with people of faith to help them manage their money and their giving. She will bring us a message of hope and provide us with pastoral care regarding our finances.
The CCMCC Choir is back!
No choir practice this Sunday, November 1st!

The choir at CCMCC is back!  If you are interested in joining the choir or just coming to a practice to check it out then please feel free to come to the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and join us as we make a joyful noise!

The choir will also have Sunday morning practice, so if your schedule doesn't allow for Wednesday evening practice, then please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00am in the sanctuary!  Hope to see you there!
Sunday School
We will not have Sunday School this week, November 1st.  Sunday School will resume November 8th.
All Church Workday
(Pride in your church day part II)
On Saturday, November 14, we will have "Pride In Your Church Day"  Part II.  Hopefully we will have as big a crowd that stayed for the inside to come and work on the outside.  The grass will be cut, edging done, and branches bagged and taken to the street.  This building, again, is our wonderful resource, and we all need to help maintain it!  Grab your friends and let's all pull together and get this place looking wonderful as we head into the fall/winter season!

A hearty breakfast will be prepared by Barb Devlin and we will eat at 8:30am and then head out to take care of our grounds!  There will be a sign-up sheet in the Narthex.  Please indicate any tools you may have and will be bringing with you.  If you have any questions or need further information, please see our Facilities team leader, Barb Devlin.  Thanking you in advance for your service!

One Spirit, One Body
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body- Jews or Greeks, slaves or free- and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
-1 Corinthians 12:12-13

We will not have open registration the day of the retreat at Camp Mikell as we have in previous years. No fees or registration for the retreat will be accepted after November 10, 2009.
