WHO ARE WE?  People with a Mission

Jesus said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."   Simon answered, "But we have worked all night long and have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets."
 -Luke 5: 4b-5

Giver of the dream, this I ask:
for courage
to take the paths the feet of my soul
have always known;

... for daring
to taste the delights
the tongue of my heart
forever recalls;

for wisdom
to touch the depths
the hands of my desire
could never erase.

Dear Don,
From Your Pastor...
Dear Christ Covenant Friends,

Sometimes the surface is misleading - or, at best, offers us only limited information and experience. Going deeper can be a rich and fulfilling expedition. It's true with friendships, with our self-knowledge and awareness, with our pursuits of knowledge and skill. Jesus uses a watery image to teach a profound life lesson - as he does!

On Sunday, we'll consider just what Jesus is implying: what he's suggesting about our relationship with God and our mission as God's people.

I hope that you'll take a few moments between now and Sunday to consider these questions:

-In what areas of my own spiritual life do I feel a tug to go deeper?
-How might we go deeper in relationship with each other?
-How might we more deeply live in mission and service to our community?

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday and reflecting on these questions and to going deeper in worship together.

With Love,

The Board Corner
We have begun exploring additional financial stability options for our Church, particularly in the areas of our mortgage and monthly income.  In the coming weeks, we will also be working with Reverend Shepherd to create a strategic plan that will place CCMCC as one of the most visible, vibrant and viable churches in Atlanta as we enter 2010 and the years to come.

We have new Ministry Teams, more programs, and
Church-sponsored activities just about every week.  It's a great time to be part of this community, and the perfect time to let your friends know about this happening place called Christ Covenant!

So with that, we issue you a challenge to invite at least one person to church every week!  If you think it feels good to have 80 + people in worship again, just wait and see how it feels when it's 150, then 200, and so on, and so on...

Peace and Blessings,
Board of Directors
